Yesterday" is a video depicting Iran and its recent uprising from my perspective as a young girl who relocated to Montreal three weeks before the uprising began. Created fromthousands of videos recorded over the past five years of my life in Iran, it capturespersonal indoor moments and street scenes from Tehran and other cities, all filmed usingan iPhone. The video authentically portrays Iran, highlighting the dichotomy of indoorfreedoms and the realities observed during strolls through various urban areas, particularly impoverished ones, alongside the "Woman, Life, Freedom" Uprising regardingthe hijab. Additional footage from Montreal offers a contrasting perspective, bridging pastexperiences with my current surroundings.
