Director

JANG MAN-MIN
JANG Man-min is a South Korean filmmaker known for his delicate, visually poetic storytelling and exploration of identity, memory, and human connection. He gained critical acclaim for his debut feature, Silver Apricot (2023), a contemplative drama that premiered at the Busan International Film Festival and was praised for its lyrical cinematography and emotional depth. A graduate of the Korean National University of Arts (K'ARTS), Jang began his career with award-winning short films, including Fading Light (2018) and The Last Summer (2020), which screened at festivals such as Jeonju International Film Festival and Seoul International Short Film Festival. His work often blends elements of slow cinema with subtle narrative tension, drawing comparisons to directors like Lee Chang-dong and Hong Sang-soo. With Silver Apricot, Jang established himself as a promising new voice in Korean independent cinema, earning nominations for Best New Director at the Buil Film Awards and Wildflower Film Awards. He continues to develop projects that merge intimate character studies with broader social themes.
