Huge Thank You for Those from Exhibition!

June 20, 2025

Words can hardly capture the magic we experienced together this past week at "Eighty Thousand Steps" & "Retrospective: Trilogy". To every single person who walked through the doors of the Goethe-Institut Montréal, who lingered in the glow of the projections, who let themselves be vulnerable inside Gina Kim’s VR worlds, or who leaned in during Crystal Chan’s art talk—thank you.

To Crystal Chan, your work reminded us that even in the digital age, art can feel profoundly human. The way you weave algorithms and emotion into something so meditative left us all in awe. And to Gina Kim, your trilogy didn’t just tell stories, it unearthed feelings we didn’t know we’d buried. The way you explore memory and identity through VR is truly groundbreaking.

A huge thanks to the Goethe-Institut Montréal for believing in this vision and providing a space where art and technology could collide so beautifully. None of this would have been possible without your support.

Special thanks for AdaX (@ada_x_mtl) for your cutting-edge tools, but for the expertise and support behind them. Your team’s dedication—whether in seamless setup, real-time troubleshooting, or simply ensuring every detail was calibrated to perfection made all the difference.

And to you, the audience: Your curiosity, your gasps, your quiet moments of reflection, they’re what made this exhibition come alive. We saw strangers connect over shared experiences, visitors wiping away tears after the VR sessions, and so many of you staying long after the lights came back on to talk about what you’d felt. That’s the power of art, and it’s why we do this.
