2025 KFFC Awards

Celebrating the Public Awards at the 12th KFFC

For the third consecutive year, Arts East-West (AEW) proudly presents the Public Awards, honoring exceptional films and media artworks from KFFC. Since 2022, this initiative has embodied AEW's mission to weave together diasporic narratives and sustainable artistry through the use of folding stories in bojagi—traditional Korean wrapping cloths made from scraps of fabric pieced together in patchwork style.

Why the Bojagi?

The bojagi—a traditional Korean textile—serves as a metaphor for our festival’s mission: to carry and connect stories across borders, cultures, and time. Each awarded quilt is a tribute to the enduring power of shared narratives.

"The concept of bojagi—a traditional Korean textile—serves our organization's vision to reinvent intensity ongoing for our festival's mission: to carry and connect stories across borders, cultures, and time. Each awarded quilt is a tribute to the enduring power of shared narratives—unfolding and enfolding stories of migration, diaspora, and resilience across generations."       -  Mi-Jeong Lee (Media Artist, Scholar, Founder and Artistic Director of AEW)
